A project that brought Belarusian online education into one connected ecosystem

EdTech4BY is an EU-funded project supporting Belarusian educators, e-learning providers and early-stage EdTech teams. It combines product development, professional collaboration and shared digital infrastructure for online education across borders.

The project is built around three pillars: incubation to develop new products, a Platform to deliver and discover them, and a Community to connect the people behind them.

Different functions. One connected system

Incubation

A completed competitive programme for educators and early-stage startups. It combined training, mentoring, product testing, Pitch Days and staged grants for the strongest projects.

Platform

A Moodle-based, multi-tenant home for courses, branded learning spaces and curated catalogues of courses and EdTech apps.

Community / Network

A professional Community called the EdTech4BY Network of educators, providers, EdTech experts and partners who exchange practice, test ideas and build relationships around real educational needs.

How the programme unfolded

September–december 2025
Open call
Educators and early-stage EdTech startups applied to join two competitive incubation tracks. 25 startups and 25 educators were selected from 100+ applicatns
20 January 2026
Kick-off in Vilnius
The two cohorts met in person in Vilnius to begin a programme of workshops, mentoring, testing and Pitch Days.
January-JUly 2026
3 stage Incubation
25 educators and 25 startups competed through three stages. At each stage, fewer projects advanced to larger grants; top-5 startups and top-15 educators were awarded €30K and €5K.
march 2026
Platform&Network
Launch of the e-learning platform to deliver e-learning, promote courses and apps. Kick-off of the EdTech professional community - the EdTech4BY Network with weekly workshops, discussions, meetings, working groups.

Platform continuity
LIC will support the Platform at least until August 2029

This keeps the shared Moodle infrastructure available for hosted courses, branded learning spaces, catalogues and the Community’s continuing work.

Current status
The incubation programme is complete; the Platform and Network continue as its practical legacy.
